Tips And Tricks On How To Get Rid Of Dandruff

Ever wondered how to get rid of dandruff, the most hated companion one can have? Well, there is a solution to each problem.
Let us first understand the reasons that cause dandruff. Dandruff is nothing but dead skin cells that shed off from the scalp. It has nothing to do with dry scalp. The rapid liberation of the dead cells of the scalp leads to the formation of little chunks of white or grey particles, visible in hair, over skin and clothes. Dandruff is a common problem that many people face today and is easily curable in most cases.

In order to get rid of dandruff, most people use specialized shampoos. In order to stop the fast shedding chunks of dead cells, anti-dandruff shampoos contain certain agents that segregate these chunks. Once the formation of the clusters of dead cells is halted, the dead cells can be swiped off regularly. This leads to reduction in or removal of dandruff. Some people are, however, allergic to shampoos. If this is the case, then certain home-made remedies are also available to reduce and cure dandruff.

To treat dandruff without using shampoos, one can use Fenugreek, lime, green gram powder and so on. Fenugreek seeds need to be taken (two tablespoons) and soaked throughout the night. In the morning, it can be made into a fine paste which can then be applied over the scalp. Using one tablespoon of lime juice while washing your hair will lead to glowing and dandruff free hair. The use of curd has been a traditional approach to hair care. In order to get rid of dandruff, hair must be washed twice a week with two tablespoon of green gram powder mixed in curd. Half a cup of curd should suffice. Another homemade solution would be to use apple cider vinegar and hot water in the quantities two tablespoons and six tablespoons respectively. This solution should be applied at night and the shampoo can be used next morning to wash your hair.

However, these remedies do not always work and are not usually preferred. In the modern times, these are too inconvenient to follow and are not the cleanest techniques to remove dandruff. Thus, sticking to shampoos unless you are allergic to the ingredients used is the best way to go. Most of the times, dandruff is caused by fungus too. Thus, using a shampoo that attacks fungus makes sense as well.

Sometimes, people experience that the use of shampoos causes more dandruff! This is possible because some shampoos dry the scalp out. This causes flakes and in turn causes dandruff. If this is the case, you must immediately switch to a shampoo that has a lot of conditioner in it. This will abolish the dryness and help kill dandruff. A lot of herbal shampoos are also available these days which help cure dandruff and keep the hair clear. But the use of these kinds of shampoos takes a lot of time to kill dandruff in totality.

It depends on individuals which technique turns out to effective for him or her. However, now it is up to you to test which effective method you will adopt to get rid of dandruff!
